Job Responsibilities
The General Liability/Professional Liability Associate Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in all phases of insurance defense litigation, focusing on general liability and professional liability cases. The key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough legal research and writing to support litigation strategies and client defense.
- Handling various phases of litigation, from initial case evaluation through trial and appeal, if necessary.
- Defending clients in significant exposure cases involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex litigation.
- Collaborating with partners and senior associates who are seasoned trial attorneys to strategize and implement effective defense tactics.
- Representing a diverse clientele, including businesses and individuals, who may be insured or self-insured.
- Engaging in direct representation or through professional insurance carriers for various professionals, such as accountants, architects, engineers, attorneys, and more.
Education and Experience
- The candidate must have at least five (5) to six (6) years of experience in representing clients in insurance defense litigation, specifically in general liability and/or professional liability cases.
- Strong research and writing skills are essential for this role.
- Admission to the Texas Bar is a mandatory requirement for this position.
