Job Title: Director: Global Technology Services
Job Responsibilities:
The Director: Global Technology Services at the law firm is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering an exceptional IT experience for all lawyers and business professionals across the firm's global offices. This position acts as the most senior IT business partner to the firm and collaborates closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to define and champion the user experience within the global technology strategy. Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the CIO to shape the global technology strategy and advocating for a client-centric approach in IT.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior business leaders across all offices, serving as a trusted advisor for IT services and capabilities.
- Ensuring the "Voice of the Client" is integrated into all IT service design, delivery, and decision-making processes to meet evolving business needs.
- Overseeing the delivery of IT support services globally, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and a seamless user experience.
- Leading the transformation of IT, empowering professionals to become proactive business partners who leverage technology for business outcomes.
- Driving operational excellence within IT by initiating continuous improvement processes, optimizing workflows, and fostering a client-centric culture.
- Providing strategic direction for the service support desk to ensure efficient resolution of IT issues.
- Establishing and monitoring service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve service quality and user satisfaction.
- Implementing systems and processes to proactively address potential service disruptions.
- Managing a comprehensive service lifecycle management framework from design to retirement.
- Overseeing asset and configuration management for accurate inventory tracking.
- Managing the supplier ecosystem, negotiating contracts, and aligning them with the firm's IT strategy.
- Leading the Learning & Development function within IT to ensure teams have the skills necessary for exceptional service delivery.
- Managing ServiceNow as a key platform for IT service management and workflow optimization.
- Mentoring and developing a high-performing, client-centric IT team across all regions.
- Collaborating with peer leaders to ensure seamless integration and communication of IT services.
- Providing regular reports on performance indicators, service levels, and budget utilization to senior leadership.
- Performing additional duties as required to meet firm goals and objectives.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, though an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if directly related to the job functions.
- A minimum of 15 years of professional IT experience is required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience is essential.
- Experience in legal or professional services is required.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, software, and technologies, with the ability to translate technical requirements into business terms.
- Experience managing large-scale projects and programs, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the firm and outside vendors.
- Ability to work in a team environment and support the firm's demanding needs.

- Implements change processes to improve workflow efficiencies.
- Process- and service-oriented with strong leadership and project management skills.
- Able to set priorities and delegate tasks efficiently.
Salary Information:
The typical pay scale for this position varies by location:
- Chicago: $237,800 to $342,500
- Houston: $240,300 to $346,000
- New York: $250,900 to $361,300
- Washington, .: $242,900 to $349,800
Actual wages or salaries may differ based on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, and internal pay alignment.
