Job Title: Tax Manager, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager specializing in Partnerships, you will have a range of responsibilities centered around advising clients on the tax implications related to their business objectives and partnership-specific issues. Your primary duties will include:
- Advising clients on partnership-specific tax matters such as section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis and allocations, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations, and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations.
- Applying your knowledge and experience to identify potential partnership taxation issues and assist in preparing partnership-specific computations.
- Playing a key role in the leadership team of the Specialized Tax Services (STS) Partnership Practice and actively participating in the development of the group.
- Engaging in process improvement and team-building initiatives, maintaining client relationships, and acting as a source of guidance for other team members.
- Supervising associates and senior associates on all projects, reviewing their work, and providing feedback.
- Training associates and senior associates on research skills, tax issues framing, and software tools.
- Acting as a career advisor and managing the workload of associates and senior associates.
- Providing verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- A Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services is required.
- Specialized partnership experience is mandatory.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience in private equity, at both fund and portfolio company levels, is preferred.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) is preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role is preferred.
Software:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software is preferred.

- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, along with decision-making capabilities.
