Job Title: Tax Senior Manager - Private Companies
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior Manager within the department, you will play a crucial role in aiding private companies with a range of business advisory needs. These include audit, tax compliance, and planning, all aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and allowing businesses to concentrate on strategic growth. You will gain exposure to the entire business life cycle of a private company, from inception through growth, maturity, and transition. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients in designing and implementing personalized service plans tailored to privately owned entities, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Focusing on key issues such as wealth management, compliance, cash flow management, equity expansion, divestiture, and exit strategies.
- Supporting entrepreneurs, private business owners, and family enterprises in managing ownership and growth in alignment with their business needs in a dynamic global landscape.
- Collaborating as part of a team of problem solvers to address complex business issues from strategy to execution.
- Encouraging team participation and inviting diverse opinions, including those from quieter team members.
- Effectively handling ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations.
- Initiating open and candid coaching conversations at all levels.
- Navigating between big-picture thinking and managing relevant details.
- Anticipating stakeholder needs and developing potential solutions proactively.
- Contributing technical knowledge in your area of specialization.
- Promoting an environment where people and technology collaborate to achieve greater outcomes.
- Managing cross-border and diverse teams and engagements.
- Leading open conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust.
- Upholding the company's code of ethics and business conduct.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum Years of Experience: 6 years.
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrates intimate-level knowledge and a proven record of success in handling complex tax issues for non-publicly traded companies and day-to-day compliance and consulting for various entities.
- Proven ability to identify and address client needs.
- Experience in building and maintaining networks of client relationships and community involvement.
- Strong communication skills to articulate value propositions.
- Proficiency in managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collections, and preparing or coordinating complex written and verbal materials.
- Experience in supervising teams to foster an atmosphere of trust, promoting diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation.
- Proven ability to provide timely, meaningful written and verbal feedback to staff.
- Demonstrated leadership as a business advisor, including developing new relationships and making introductions to sell new services with a "One Firm" service mindset.
- Experience in innovating through new and existing technologies and experimenting with digitization solutions.
- Proficiency in using digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $119,300 - $328,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for the position. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
