Job Title: Information Governance Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Information Governance Manager is tasked with executing the information governance strategy to support the management, preservation, and destruction of information under the direction of the Director of Information Governance. The role involves working with practice groups, leadership, and administrative departments to implement the information governance program, ensuring it aligns with the law firm's business strategy and complies with legal, regulatory, ethical, and client obligations.
Essential functions include:
- Setting individual and team goals to ensure high productivity and skill development to meet business demands.
- Providing ongoing performance feedback to team members based on performance metrics and customer feedback.
- Analyzing and optimizing information governance processes using data to improve records retention and disposition in alignment with law firm policies.
- Overseeing operations related to on-site and off-site records storage facilities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to records retention schedules.
- Reviewing and revising information governance policies and records retention schedules.
- Collaborating with team members to create and implement retention and legal hold strategies for active records storage across all systems.
- Coaching attorneys and legal teams on email management and electronic records management.
- Overseeing primary data management systems, including the Records Management System and other key records repositories.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Specific Skills Required:
- Ability to explain complex or technical topics related to information governance to individuals unfamiliar with the law firm's systems and policies.
- Knowledge of key technology tools, including document management systems, records management systems, Microsoft 365, Google G Suite, etc.
- Broad knowledge of records, information management, and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to establish clear priorities and orchestrate resources across multiple functions and business units in an organized manner.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with the development and implementation of the information governance program.
- Ability to facilitate and present information governance strategy to all levels of law firm personnel.
- Ability to develop trusting relationships across the law firm, including within practice groups and with external partners.

- Familiarity with the business of law.
- Professional certifications such as Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Privacy Professional (CIPP).
- Familiarity with technical concepts relevant to cloud computing environments.
Education and Experience:
Qualified candidates must possess a BA/BS degree in business, information management, or a related field, or have a combination of education and related experience providing equivalent knowledge. Additionally, candidates must have at least 6 years of experience in information governance, records management, or a related area, as well as at least 3 years of experience managing high-achieving teams.

Salary Information:
The position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off starting at 20 days annually, personal medical and parental leave, up to ten paid holidays, and family care benefits. The compensation varies based on qualifications and experience and may be filled in various locations.
- Colorado compensation range: $76,990 to $115,960 annually
- Washington State compensation range: $82,210 to $122,320 annually
- Washington . compensation range: $87,710 to $132,110 annually
