Job Title: Legal Proposal Writer
Job Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly review and analyze each request to determine the value proposition and opportunity.
- Vet opportunities based on firm guidelines and assessment requirements.
- Provide coaching and strategic guidance when necessary.
- Facilitate the proposal process from intake to submission.
- Collaborate with attorneys and subject matter experts to extract essential messaging.
- Listen to business development strategy discussions and extract significant information and action items.
- Work cross-functionally with business development team members and related business professional teams to build creative, innovative material.
- Capture, shape, and synthesize information to reflect a cohesive message, written in one voice.
- Ensure documents pieced together by multiple authors maintain one-voice consistency while preserving the business pursuit strategy and messaging.
- Write executive summaries and business development materials that articulate strategic messaging in a compelling, persuasive manner, consistent with firm branding.
- Translate spoken or written legal information and business jargon into clear, consistent, grammatically correct content.
- Ensure consistency, clarity, and adherence to voice and style guidelines.
- Proofread and ensure high-quality and consistent work product.
- Prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Maintain and update a proposal content library for efficient future use.
- Track all proposals and KPIs related to win/loss rate.
- Analyze proposal data/opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.
Education and Experience Information:

- 5+ years of relevant experience, such as writing proposals or grants.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Quick grasp of specialist knowledge and ability to make it clear.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize complex concepts for executive audiences.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills, including professional communication and timely response to inquiries.
- Ability to multitask, adapt to shifting priorities, problem-solve, and address issues proactively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong executive presence.
- Ability to conduct research.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn new technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, and InterAction preferred.
- Experience with proposal data platforms such as Foundation and QorusDocs preferred.
- Experience with Adobe InDesign preferred.
Salary Information:
- The anticipated annual pay range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000 (exempt).
- The actual offered pay rate will be determined based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity considerations.
