Job Title: International Trade Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
The International Trade Specialist at the law firm is responsible for providing support to attorneys within the International Trade Group, which is part of the Regulatory Practice Area. The role involves both billable and non-billable tasks and requires the specialist to work under general supervision, using experience and judgment to achieve goals. Essential functions and responsibilities include:
- Conducting research and writing memos on various International Trade issues such as trade policy, trade controls, trade cases, and trade agreements for attorneys in the practice group.
- Tracking legal trends in International Trade and reporting findings to attorneys.
- Compiling and analyzing numerous statistical sources to support attorneys.
- Organizing, indexing, and maintaining case matter files.
- Drafting documents, letters, and summaries for attorney review.
- Filing documents with government agencies and courts.
- Preparing public versions of confidential documents and exhibits.
- Tracking media, press releases, announcements, and other documents regarding trade developments.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the International Trade Specialist position are expected to have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate with a background and interest in international trade.
- One to two (1 - 2) years of work experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- The ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
- The ability to work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours.
- The ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Salary Information:
The target hiring range for the International Trade Specialist position is between $64,000 and $80,000 per year. It is important to note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of final salary offers, as base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the total rewards package provided by the law firm, which also includes eligibility for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
