Job Title: Workers' Compensation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Workers' Compensation Paralegal is responsible for supporting attorneys primarily in the area of workers' compensation defense. Key duties include:
- Performing administrative tasks such as proofreading and editing for accuracy and clarity.
- Typing with a high degree of accuracy, at a speed of 65-75 words per minute.
- Ensuring proper naming conventions for cases and organizing electronic files, with experience in iManage considered advantageous.
- Applying knowledge of legal documents and terminology in preparing documents.
- Assisting with scheduling, including calendar calls and depositions.
- Handling E-filing, discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, motions, and managing calendaring and docketing deadlines, with knowledge of EAMS being a plus.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation Defense practice is preferred.
- An ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
- Knowledge of billing practices and adherence to client guidelines is necessary.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a positive attitude are essential.
Salary Information:
The position offers an hourly salary ranging from to , which may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Additionally, there is a bonus opportunity available. This position requires the employee to work in the office three days per week, either in the Orange County or Los Angeles office.
