Job Title: North America Product and Commercial Counsel - Emerging Products

Job Responsibilities:
The North America Emerging Products Counseling team at the company provides essential legal support for both B2C and B2B emerging products. The role involves working closely with the company's emerging product and business teams. Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with global legal and product teams to assess and review new and existing B2C and B2B applications, products, features, and initiatives. This is to ensure legal compliance from a US and Canadian legal perspective by providing legal risk mitigation strategies.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements, as well as reviewing marketing campaigns and assisting with general transactions and other commercial matters for emerging products targeting the North American market.
- Advising global product and business teams on the application of a wide range of laws and regulations in the US and Canada, focusing on intellectual property, consumer protection, data protection, content regulation, and online safety-related laws.
- Collaborating with cross-functional colleagues in product, product operations, enterprise and consumer sales, public policy, communications, privacy, trust & safety, and other departments on product launches, commercial partnerships, and campaigns in the North America market.
- Coordinating with other regional counsel and various subject matter expert legal groups to ensure comprehensive legal support.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school are required.
- The candidate must be a member in good standing of the New York state bar, with dual qualification in Canada being a plus, or registered as in-house counsel in New York.
- The candidate should have prior experience counseling on product issues and/or negotiating commercial contracts at a technology company. Experience with consumer-facing digital platforms (UGC) or enterprise technology applications is ideal.
- Previous experience at a recognized law firm and/or in-house at a technology company is required.
- The ability to assess legal, practical, and business risks in a fast-paced environment and provide sound advice under tight deadlines is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in areas such as consumer protection, marketing, contests, platform liability, technology, intellectual property, music and entertainment/content, media, online safety, data protection, and privacy.
- A proven track record of operating independently with strong attention to detail, supporting a diverse workload across business functions, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience and comfort working in a global environment with colleagues at all levels in various time zones in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, and humble with a positive attitude.

Salary Information:
[For Pay Transparency] The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $170,666 - $319,200 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that compensates and recognizes employees for their work. This role may also be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day-one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year, and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
