Not For Profit Tax Paralegal Responsibilities: Research relevant state and federal tax law regarding nonprofit exemption, foreign organizations and corporate governance. Manage 40+ clients and monitor case progress, order filings, serve as main client contact and draft materials for review and revision by legal team. Communicate regularly with clients and attorneys regarding outstanding documents. Compile and submit Form 1023 applications to the IRS. Maintain detailed records of client history and assume responsibility for crucial administrative duties relating to those records. Represent the Incubator in internal presentations and CLE programs.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree from a four year college/university, minimum cumulative GPA of . 2+ years experience working for a nonprofit organization. Experience in sourcing and writing grants. Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capacity to work in a team setting and perform tasks/projects independently. Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Availability/Flexibility to work overtime.
