Part-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate will provide legal support to attorney and paralegal under minimal supervision. Will perform various clerical and secretarial duties requiring general knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of a Criminal Defense firm. Client intake. Calendaring (makes arrangements for conferences and meetings, and for upcoming hearings). Enter appointments and tasks in docket management system. Timekeeping. Scan and save incoming documents and outgoing documents. Provide professional assistance to clients. Answering telephone calls. Process incoming correspondence. Collects information from the files or staff. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Create case summaries. Prep attorney for preliminary hearings and/or trial. Analyze and create witness summaries. Heavy drafting and reviewing legal and non-legal documents, forms and correspondences. Maintaining and managing Client and Matter Database (physical and electronic). Filing Court documents. Legal, regulatory, and other research.

The candidate should preferably have 1 year of experience. Must have a strong interest in criminal defense. Paralegal Certification recommended. Experience in general office or customer service preferred. Experience with CRM systems a plus. Strong computer skills a plus. Must be bilingual in English / Spanish. Must have skill to operate an Apple iMac. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people of varying skills, responsibilities, and backgrounds; and exceptional organizational skills needed.
