Job Title: Assistant Legal Counsel

Job Responsibilities:
- Contracts: Independently draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of contracts with clients and vendors, including engagement letters, consulting agreements, data license agreements, confidentiality agreements, statements of work, and office contracts. This involves analyzing contract terms to identify and mitigate risks and working collaboratively with consulting and administrative teams (Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology and Security, and Operations) regarding contractual obligations.
- General In-House Advice: Provide practical legal advice to consulting and administrative staff on a diverse range of topics. This may involve legal research and collaborating with legal team colleagues on long-term projects pertaining to legal subject areas that are a priority for the company.
- Risk Management: Assist in risk management on a company-wide basis. Work on improving certain business processes with a focus on increasing efficiency and reducing risk to the company.

Education and Experience Information:
- JD required.
- Minimum of four years of legal experience required.
- An ideal candidate will have five to eight years of substantive relevant experience.
- A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts preferred.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent judgment and ability to tailor advice to circumstances at hand.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with compliance issues associated with pharmaceutical research, data privacy and security matters, and/or litigation support is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Willingness to learn.
- Enjoys contributing to a collaborative team environment.
