Job Title: Litigation Secretary

Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Secretary at the law firm is tasked with a variety of secretarial, administrative, and clerical duties supporting the legal team, specifically in the area of civil litigation. Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing and processing legal documents such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints, appeals, motions, and pretrial agreements.
- Managing the mailing, faxing, or arranging for the delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials.
- Handling calendaring for attorneys, ensuring all appointments and court dates are accurately scheduled.
- Receiving and placing telephone calls, scheduling, and making appointments for attorneys.
- Assisting with office administrative duties, including making photocopies of correspondences, documents, and other printed materials.
- Organizing and maintaining documents and case files to ensure they are up to date and easily accessible.
- Assisting attorneys in gathering information relevant to their caseloads.
- Drafting and typing office memos, letters, and other correspondence.
- Performing additional work-related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in the legal field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Specific qualifications include:

- Knowledge of legal terminology and legal document management, including briefs, summonses, complaints, motions, pleadings, and discovery.
- Familiarity with laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
- Understanding of federal and state court rules and e-filing procedures.
- Familiarity with litigation management software systems is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with the ability to operate basic office equipment like copy machines, fax machines, printers, scanners, and computers.
- Accurate typing skills with a minimum speed of 60 words per minute.
- Experience in calendaring and e-filing is required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with a strong grasp of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt and respond quickly to urgent matters.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Salary Information:
The position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Work Schedule:
