Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in a comprehensive program designed to provide an accurate sense of what it's like to be a full-time associate at the law firm.
- Work on a variety of client projects, draft memos, agreements, and briefs that will be read by clients and judges.
- Attend client meetings, closings, court conferences, depositions, and trials.
- Participate in pro bono projects to understand the firm's commitment to community service.
- Collaborate with attorneys across different practices and offices, contributing to real, meaningful work that underpins the Summer Associate Program.
- Engage in legal skills workshops focusing on essential skills for attorneys, including contract drafting and negotiation, legal and research memoranda, bluebooking, and marketing writing skills.
- Receive evaluations and feedback on assignments from assigning attorneys, including mid-summer and end-of-program evaluations.
- Participate in the Writing Advisor Program, receiving ongoing feedback on written work from an assigned writing advisor, typically a partner at the firm.
- Involve in community and social events, including cooking classes, museum tours, axe-throwing, escape rooms, and dinners, as well as volunteer opportunities like prepping meals for individuals living with illnesses and participating in a beach cleanup day.
- Attend meetings with public figures and judges who are friends and alumni of the law firm.
Education and Experience Information:
