Job Title: Associate Product Counsel, Strategic Growth and Compliance
Job Responsibilities:
- Advise on regulations impacting cloud products, focusing on areas such as privacy, Artificial Intelligence (AI), competition, content, financial services, and data use.
- Collaborate closely with legal and compliance teams to align Google’s compliance strategy with the cloud product compliance strategy.
- Provide risk assessment advice to compliance and product teams.
- Offer guidance to commercial teams globally regarding customer compliance concerns and assist with agreement negotiations when necessary.
- Work in partnership with other stakeholders and counsel to develop collaborative strategies.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Juris Doctor (JD), Bachelor of Laws (.), or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of attorney-level experience in a government setting, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Experience working with regulations in areas such as privacy, data use, AI, competition, content, and financial services is necessary.
- The candidate must be admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state where the position is located.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in directly advising enterprise or cloud companies.
- Experience utilizing AI tools to streamline and scale legal support.
- Ability to support new and emerging regulations and develop expertise on novel issues.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and explain legal issues clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Salary Information:
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000-$312,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
- Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
- Specific salary details for preferred locations can be shared by the recruiter during the hiring process.
