Job Title: Family Law Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys through every stage of a family law matter, including divorce, custody, post-judgment, and more.
- Draft pleadings, financial affidavits, discovery, and settlement documents.
- Communicate regularly with clients by answering questions, gathering information, and providing support.
- Manage and organize case files, court filings, and scheduling.
- Assist in preparing for mediations, depositions, and court hearings.
- Track deadlines, billable time, and assist with billing.
- Coordinate with courts and opposing counsel.
Education and Experience Information:
- 1–5 years of paralegal or high-level legal assistant experience, with a preference for family law experience.
- Strong knowledge of Maine family court procedures.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Comfort in managing multiple active cases with competing deadlines.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and legal software; knowledge of Clio is a plus.
- A calm, compassionate, and professional demeanor, particularly when dealing with clients in difficult situations.
Salary Information:
- Compensation ranges from to per hour, based on experience.
