Litigation Paralegal The candidate will research law, investigate facts, and prepare document's for attorney's according to established policie's and procedures. Continual review and management of case files. Obtain necessary authorization's for medical record's (require's knowledge regarding HIPAA regulations. Identify healthcare provider's from whom to obtain pertinent records. Collect, organize, safeguard and electronically store medical record's and imaging whilst maintaining inventory log of same. Prepare initial discovery, ., interrogatories, request for production, request for admissions. Vet and engage with subject matter experts. Journal deadline's for response's and monitor for timeliness. Prepare draft response's to discovery, including document production's and corresponding privilege logs. Prepare legal document's such a's briefs, pleadings, chronologies, agreements, deposition summaries/abstract's and trial and/or mediation binder's for use by attorneys. Investigate fact's a's requested by attorneys. Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents. Prepare trial exhibits. Schedule and prepare expert lay witnesse's for trial. Attend trial, a's necessary. High School diploma or equivalent i's required; Bachelor 's Degree i's preferred. Should have 5+ year's of civil defense litigation experience. Experience in personal injury, property damage and medical malpractice i's preferred. Experience with trial preparation and participation/attendance, including organization of witnes's material's and preparation of physical and electronic exhibit's i's required. Working knowledge of the rule's and procedure's IL and MO State and Federal Court system's (including experience in eFiling) i's required.
