Job Title: Risk Management Client Matter Lifecycle Clerk
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for billing setup for partners and legal assistants.
- Input and maintain client billing information in the accounting database, including matter budgets and timekeeper rates.
- Review and verify the accuracy of billing setup to ensure prompt and accurate invoicing according to each client's specific needs.
- Ensure that the client's initial matter billing setup aligns with their billing and outside counsel guidelines.
- Review and verify the accuracy of billing documentation as required.
- Confirm that rates and any fee arrangements are accurately reflected for each individual matter.
- Communicate with attorneys, billing team, client service specialists, and other staff to support the successful flow of billing information within the new business intake workflow.
- Drive standardization and innovation alongside future growth.
- Ensure that law firm policies and practices are followed; promote consistency and education on professional and technical matters to meet client and law firm billing objectives.
- Assist with other special projects, ad hoc reports, and activities as needed, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; an . or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; at least one year of related experience in a large law firm; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in general accounting practices.
- A minimum of one year of experience with legal and/or electronic billing processes and practices, with prior experience with Aderant or Elite billing systems.
- Experience with Intapp OPEN Intake is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze financial data.
- Must be analytical, intellectually curious, and motivated to seek out answers and solutions.
- Familiarity and comfort in dealing with legal documents and contracts are required.
- Ability to multitask, working both independently and as part of a team, in a deadline-driven, detail-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Salary Information:
The yearly salary range is between $35,000 and $50,000. This position is open to all experience levels. The actual salary offered may be above or below the identified range and will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, and the location where the position is filled.
