Job Title: Paralegal/Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Document preparation and management
- Drafting correspondence and motions
- Filing documents with courts
- Opening new matters
- Calendaring
- Coordination of travel arrangements
- Preparation of expense reports
- Performing various tasks necessary to maintain the efficiency of a busy legal practice
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Paralegal/Legal Assistant position should have at least five (5) years of experience within a fast-paced litigation practice. The candidate should also possess experience with Microsoft Office Suite and court filings, including e-filing. Strong language and communication skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and the ability to multi-task effectively under pressure. The candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office and Westlaw
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to recognize priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Compliance with deadlines
- Capability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong research and investigative skills
- Ability to handle legal problems logically
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Input and maintain billable time according to law firm policy and achieve the annual billable goal
Salary Information:
The position offers a salary range of - per hour, as provided by the employer. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, assisting a partner with a busy practice at the law firm.
