Job Title: Legal Assistant

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide general office support for healthcare law attorneys, including maintaining and organizing files, photocopying, maintaining calendars, preparing expense reports, submitting invoices for payment, scheduling depositions, conferences, and meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Set up new clients and matters, which includes running conflict checks and preparing engagement letters.
- Prepare and finalize basic correspondence and other documents as necessary, ensuring formatting, consistency, and accuracy on time-sensitive, high-profile documents.
- Calculate, calendar, and track court and other filing deadlines.
- Format, proofread, and finalize detailed correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents, including for e-filings.
- Organize documents and files in both paper and electronic filing systems, and manage document creation, conversion, and formatting.
- File documents in state and federal courts, communicate with court staff as necessary, and keep current with changes in court rules and filing procedures.
- Possess knowledge of procedures and rules for filing documents in state and federal courts and have experience filing documents in both courts.
- Perform general research and support activities to assist attorneys.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a healthcare law legal assistant is preferred.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and document management systems is required.
- Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are essential.
- Must be self-motivated, proactive, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with other legal assistants, paralegals, and attorneys, as well as independently, is required.
- Must provide excellent internal and external client service.
- Clear and concise communication skills with a solution-oriented approach are necessary.
