Job Responsibilities:
The Complex Disputes Associate will join the Complex Disputes Practice Group and will be responsible for a variety of litigation-related tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and responding to complex discovery requests.
- Preparing and arguing motions or appeals.
- Engaging in pre-trial preparation and conducting witness interviews.
- Negotiating and communicating with opposing counsel.
- Conducting discovery conferences.
- Preparing for, defending, and conducting depositions.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Complex Disputes Associate position should have:
- Approximately two to three years of litigation experience.
- Direct responsibility in handling complex discovery requests, motions, and other litigation processes.
- Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
- Preferred, but not required, clerkship experience.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Superb communication and writing skills.
- A commitment to excellence and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Information:
The anticipated annual salary range for the Complex Disputes Associate position in Chicago, IL is $225,000 to $250,000. In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on factors such as work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate of what the law firm reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of the posting.
