Job Title: Immigration Managing Attorney (Bilingual in English and Spanish)

Job Responsibilities:

The Immigration Managing Attorney at the law firm is responsible for leading and managing a range of immigration-related legal activities. Key duties include:

- Leading client consultations to identify legal issues and secure client contracts.
- Managing client appointments and addressing any issues during the case duration.
- Conducting legal research and drafting motions and briefs.
- Reviewing paralegal work for applications submitted to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
- Preparing clients for various interviews and hearings, including USCIS and consular processing interviews, Master Calendar Hearings, and Individual Hearings.
- Attending client interviews and hearings, such as USCIS interviews and Master Calendar Hearings.
- Preparing and submitting relevant motions and court filings.
- Collaborating with Legal Assistants to monitor the Court Case calendar and ensure preparedness for court deadlines.
- Managing EOIR-related deadlines, such as I-589 submissions, and ensuring timely submission of court documents.
- Meeting with clients to prepare applications related to removal defense cases, including Asylum and Cancellation of Removal.
- Overseeing the drafting and editing of clients’ personal statements, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
- Reviewing client application forms for accuracy and timely submission.
- Managing incoming documents and communicating with clients and the Legal Team to ensure timely submission of requested documents.
- Preparing all court cases and documents for individual hearings, including reviewing Pre-Hearing Statements and exhibits, and adding legal arguments.
- Attending individual hearings and providing robust representation to clients with minimal supervision.
- Assigning necessary follow-up tasks to legal assistants post-court hearings.
- Addressing client inquiries regarding case status or other issues.
- Managing time efficiently, focusing on attorney-specific tasks, and delegating others to legal assistants.
- Staying updated on EOIR policies, practices, and procedures.
- Coordinating with affirmative paralegals on USCIS applications that may benefit EOIR clients.
- Conducting legal research on EOIR policies, procedures, and controlling case law.
- Ethically utilizing technological resources, including legal research tools and software.
- Taking personal initiative to improve functionality and efficiency.

Education and Experience Information:

Qualifications for the position include:

- A valid attorney license in good standing.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Dedication to the law firm's mission: “To Give Immigrants the Greatest Chance of Success”.
- Five or more years of experience as an immigration attorney, ideally ten or more, particularly in removal defense, asylum court cases, and affirmative immigration cases.
- Attributes such as honesty, self-motivation, reliability, and flexibility.
- Ability to work independently while being part of a small office team.
- Good rapport with clients and the ability to accept correction and implement changes.
- Ability to remain poised and relaxed under stress and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Salary Information:

The salary and benefits package for the Immigration Managing Attorney position is within a range of $150,000-$200,000, commensurate with skill, ability, and experience. The position follows normal office hours of Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. The role requires in-office work at least four days per week, with one remote day available. The law firm emphasizes work-life balance, considering a full-time work week to be 40 hours, with no evening or weekend hours expected.
