Job Title: Legal Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:
1. Serve as a Legal Project Manager on critical engagements identified by the law firm, providing embedded project management support to matter teams. This includes monitoring budget vs. actual reporting, overseeing scope and resource planning, facilitating task tracking, and providing client-ready reporting. Act as a liaison for the team to the client’s legal operations contact.
2. Define client relationship and legal project management strategies, goals, and deliverables in conjunction with matter/engagement leadership.
3. Track and monitor progress against anticipated scope of work and established budgets. Collaborate with the Pricing team to update as needed. Track progress of work plans, milestones, legal outcomes, and alternative fee agreements, and report and attend to follow-up items.
4. Interact with and serve as a resource to the leadership of matter and engagement teams.
5. Learn about the law firm’s systems and data, applying an understanding of financial concepts, problem-solving skills, and a strong client service orientation to navigate and apply systems and data beneficially to the Legal Project Management group and lawyers.
6. Identify issues and opportunities, proactively raising them with the appropriate team member, tracking issues through resolution, and documenting lessons learned.
7. Collaborate with other staff support departments to resolve issues and contribute to process improvement, development of SOPs, and streamlined service delivery.
8. Work with other members of the Legal Operations team to develop and provide educational content to the law firm’s lawyers.
9. Assist with inter and intra-departmental projects as needed and perform other work-related duties as assigned. Frequently liaise with the Accounting and Client Growth teams.
10. Conduct after-action reviews, contribute to discussions of lessons learned, and identify templates for future use.
11. Develop, maintain, and update various information tracking systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and file-sharing platforms.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required. Prior experience in a paralegal or practicing attorney role is preferred.
- The position involves significant ,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience in this role.
- Washington DC Applicant Salary Range: $155,000-$175,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience in this role.

Working Conditions:
- The role is based in a normal office environment with limited exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and similar factors.
