Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a mid-level associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its Restructuring & Insolvency practice group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on corporate and commercial restructurings, loan workouts, Chapter 11 cases, bankruptcy litigation, and other insolvency-related matters. The successful candidate will focus on the exercise of lender remedies in state and federal courts, and the drafting of loan and security documents for distressed transactions. The position requires the ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously while collaborating with a team of legal professionals.

Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Manage and work on corporate and commercial restructuring and insolvency matters.
  • Represent clients in Chapter 11 cases and bankruptcy litigation.
  • Advise on distressed transactions, including the drafting of loan and security documents.
  • Exercise lender remedies in state and federal courts.
  • Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to manage multiple matters efficiently.
  • Provide guidance to junior associates and support business development efforts.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in restructuring and insolvency, particularly in corporate and commercial matters.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases or transactions.
  • Strong experience with Chapter 11 cases, bankruptcy litigation, and lender remedies.
  • Proficiency in drafting loan and security documents in distressed transactions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas (or ability to waive into Texas Bar).
