Job Title: Probate Paralegal (PART-TIME)
Job Responsibilities:
- Calendar attorney appointments, court hearings, and other case-related deadlines.
- Organize and maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems.
- Meet with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to discuss case details.
- Conduct detailed intakes with potential clients.
- File pleadings and other documents with the court clerk.
- Assist in preparing for court proceedings by proofing documents, organizing exhibits, and performing other necessary tasks.
- Attend meetings with clients to witness the execution of estate planning documents.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including accountings, guardianship and trust accountings.
- Help attorneys prepare pleadings and other legal documents, including drafting documents for attorney review.
- Coordinate communications between parties, including the delivery of subpoenas and other documents.
Education and Experience Information:
- Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program or an associate degree in paralegal studies may be substituted by relevant experience.
- Knowledge of probate, estate planning, guardianship, and trust documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work with highly emotional clients in stressful family litigation situations.
- Experience using the King County Superior Court ECR system or an electronic records system for another Washington county.
- Ability to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents, and possess exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
Salary Information:
- Pay: - per hour
- Expected hours: 18 – 24 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- No weekends
