Job Title: Internship Program, Fall - Florida Attorney General's Internship Program

Job Responsibilities:
The Florida Attorney General's Internship Program provides law students with an opportunity to gain practical experience in the legal field while contributing to meaningful work. The responsibilities associated with the internship may vary depending on the division and location chosen by the intern. Key responsibilities generally include:
- Assisting in civil investigations and litigation related to state and federal antitrust laws under the Antitrust Division.
- Supporting the Consumer Protection Division in enforcing the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act by investigating and litigating against unfair practices.
- Contributing to the Criminal and Capital Appeals Division by assisting in representing and defending State prosecutions in criminal appeals at various court levels.
- Participating in the Civil Litigation Division, which involves representing the State and its agencies in both trial and appellate levels across a variety of civil actions.
- Engaging with the Complex Litigation Bureau on high-impact cases involving constitutional challenges and complex management.
- Collaborating with the Civil Legal Services Division to provide legal services to state agencies, including representation in courts and general counsel services.
- Assisting the Child Support Enforcement Bureau with actions such as the establishment and enforcement of child support orders.
- Working with the Revenue Litigation Bureau on contested tax assessments and other tax-related matters.
- Supporting the Ethics Bureau in prosecuting potential violations of the Florida Code of Ethics.
- Engaging with the Lemon Law Arbitration Division to enforce compliance with Florida's motor vehicle Lemon Law and facilitate dispute resolution.
- Contributing to the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit by investigating and prosecuting fraud involving Medicaid providers.
- Assisting the Office of Statewide Prosecution in prosecuting organized criminal activities that impact multiple judicial circuits.
- Supporting the Cyber Fraud Enforcement Unit in combating cybercrimes related to fraud and identity theft.
- Collaborating with the Office of the Solicitor General in handling complex litigation and advising the Attorney General.

Education and Experience Information:
To be eligible for the internship program, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited ABA law school. The program is open primarily to law students seeking academic credit or participating in law school-sponsored programs such as Pro Bono Programs, Law School sponsored clinics, or Law School Paid Stipend programs. Required documentation includes:
- A completed Application for Internship.
- A résumé.
- A letter from an advisor or university confirming enrollment and eligibility for academic credit or participation in a law school-sponsored program.
- An official transcript (unofficial transcripts are accepted initially, but official transcripts are required if selected).
- A writing sample is required for 2nd and 3rd-year law students at the time of the interview, if selected.

Salary Information:
The internship program is unpaid. Interns will not receive compensation or benefits, except for Worker’s Compensation benefits. Interns may receive academic credit through their law school, depending on their program's arrangements.

Additional Information:
- Interns must commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week, or as required by their law school.
- Application deadlines vary by term: Spring (September 30, 2024), Summer (February 28, 2025), and Fall (June 30, 2025).
- The application process includes a security screening authorization and background check.
