Job Description:
As an Associate Attorney in the Commercial and Complex Litigation department, you will be responsible for defending wage and hour litigation cases with limited supervision and oversight. Your knowledge and experience of California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime and meal and rest periods, will be crucial in this role. You will also be responsible for preparing and responding to written discovery, conducting depositions and handling discovery motions. Additionally, you will be expected to put together discovery plans and execute them efficiently. Excellent writing skills are essential, as you will be responsible for opposing motions for class certification in wage and hour matters. Your ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and handle legal and strategic issues in wage and hour litigation will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defend wage and hour litigation cases with limited supervision and oversight
- Thorough understanding and experience of California and federal wage and hour laws
- Prepare and respond to written discovery
- Conduct depositions and handle discovery motions
- Develop and execute discovery plans
- Draft opposition motions for class certification in wage and hour matters
