Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) position in the Southern District of Texas is a role within the Department of Justice, specifically under the Executive Office for . Attorneys and the Office of the . Attorneys. The AUSA will be working in the Civil Division, tasked with litigating a broad range of cases involving significant and complex issues on behalf of the United States in federal court. The primary responsibilities include:

Education and Experience Information:

Salary Information:
The salary for an Assistant United States Attorney is administratively determined based on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The basic pay range is from $63,163 to $165,209, which does not include locality pay. The Department of Justice offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, life insurance, health benefits, and participation in the Federal Employees Retirement System.
Additional Information:
- Travel is required, averaging one to five nights per month.
- The position is initially appointed on a 14-month (temporary) basis, pending favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.
- The position is located in Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Laredo, or McAllen, Texas.
