Job Title: Family Law Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Draft, edit, and file legal pleadings and correspondence with a strong attention to detail.
- Prepare and organize financial affidavits, equitable distribution inventories, child support worksheets, and alimony documentation.
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of child custody, support, and divorce-related pleadings.
- Coordinate and manage deadlines for discovery, financial disclosures, and court filings.
- Support case strategy and trial preparation by organizing exhibits, trial notebooks, timelines, and case files.
- Maintain frequent communication and coordination with clients, opposing counsel, paralegals, and court staff.
- Schedule depositions, mediations, and hearings.
- Draft and respond to attorney and court emails and correspondence professionally and promptly.
- Meet with clients one-on-one and coordinate case management.
- Utilize the firm’s practice management software to handle client interactions and billing.
- Attend firm-wide meetings and take an active role in the growth of the firm.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of family law paralegal experience (North Carolina experience preferred).
- Working knowledge of Wake County and/or Durham County local court rules and procedures, and familiarity with Family Court operations in Wake, Durham, and/or surrounding counties.
- Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills.
- High level of proficiency with legal software, Microsoft Office, and document management platforms.
- Familiar with time billing and law firm CRM platforms, such as Practice Panther, Clio, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience handling high-conflict custody cases and/or high net-worth divorce cases is strongly preferred.
- Ability to calmly and professionally assist individuals experiencing stress and emotional situations.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or other relevant certification is preferred.
- Pass interview and/or other skill testing.

Salary Information:
- Salary commensurate with experience.
