Position Summary:
The General Counsel at **Members Only** is responsible for leading strategic growth and providing legal advice, with a focus on corporate matters. This role is essential in ensuring the organization's compliance with laws and regulations, as well as mitigating risk for all entities within the business.
Essential Functions:
- Advise on legal and business issues to support the organization's growth and success.
- Lead risk management efforts for all entities within the business, including training and educating staff on legal and risk management practices.
- Manage litigation and work with outside counsel to represent the organization's interests.
- Draft and review legal documents and develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance and support the organization's operations.
- Assist with legal matters to reduce outside attorney expenses and negotiate settlements and vendor agreements.
- Monitor corporate compliance and insurance to protect the organization's interests.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support all areas within the business operation.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree with an active Ohio law license or eligibility to join the Ohio bar.
- 3-5 years' experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Experience in corporate finance and administration.
- Experience with nursing home operations is preferred.
