Job Title: Financial Systems Analyst

Job Responsibilities:
The Financial Systems Analyst at the law firm is tasked with supporting and collaborating with members across all areas and levels of the organization to ensure the proper functioning of the firm's financial systems. The role involves facilitating change through systems and process improvements. The analyst will work within a team to support finance technology solutions and initiatives and report to the Senior Financial Systems Manager.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing end-user systems support and assistance to the finance staff.
- Participating in project teams to assist in the technical design, coding, testing, and implementation of new reports/software, along with modifications to existing reports/software.
- Setting up and maintaining financial system(s) security for both front-office and back-office functions.
- Monitoring regular system maintenance functions.
- Assisting in the coordination of system upgrades and maintenance with IT and vendors.
- Supporting the Financial Systems Manager in the implementation and upgrade of new and existing finance systems, which includes identifying missing or needed functionality, reporting needs, validating data integrity during test conversions, and implementing training labs.
- Providing support for users of the finance applications within the firm.
- Collaborating with IT and other teams to resolve technical problems.
- Creating training documentation for both finance and end users and conducting internal finance training sessions as needed.
- Acting as the primary contact within the finance function to resolve application software problems with third-party vendors, consultants, or IT staff.
- Preparing or assisting in the preparation of recurring and special management reports.
- Developing test plans and leading user acceptance testing sessions.
- Working with IT to assess data integrity issues across applications.
- Evaluating recurring data requests for possible creation of reports with end-user execution.
- Working with various groups and levels in the organization to define their financial reporting requirements.
- Assisting in the documentation of requirements and design of custom reports, inquiries, and forms for financial systems.
- Managing the testing of custom reports, forms, and inquiries.
- Assisting in the development of process flow documentation.
- Assisting in designing improved business processes.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for majors in Management Information Systems (MIS), Accounting, or Finance.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate environment is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience with relational databases, data validation, and report writing is preferred, with knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and Business Objects being advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- The candidate should possess effective verbal and written communication skills, strong relationship management, and listening skills.
- The ability to manage stressful situations and mitigate or resolve conflicts is essential.
- The candidate should be organized, creative, goal-oriented, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities and requests.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary to research and provide solutions.
- The role requires strong team-building capabilities and an effective motivator with attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills are necessary.
- The ability to work independently and without supervision is important.
