Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Review, prepare, and draft pleadings.
- Review and draft discovery.
- Prepare document productions.
- Support trial preparation and proceedings.
- Perform court filings and cite checking.
- Engage in e-discovery and e-filings.
- Organize exhibits and reproduce records.
- Identify relevant documents.
- Bill time daily.
- Perform any and all other paralegal duties requested by the supervising attorney.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of five years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm setting is required.
- Candidates with civil litigation or asbestos defense experience are preferred.
- A paralegal certification or a Bachelor of Arts degree is required, although relevant work experience may be considered.
- Experience with cases from start to finish, including trial support, is necessary.
- Experience with cases involving multiple defendants and expedited trial dates is preferred.
- Candidates must possess exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong organizational, time management, research, and analytical skills are essential.
- Candidates must be self-starters capable of prioritizing and managing a large caseload proactively.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.
- Candidates must be able to multitask and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in e-filing systems, including but not limited to LexisNexis and Pacer, as well as Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
- Experience with billing time is necessary.
Salary Information:
- Salary is commensurate with experience.
The law firm, a nationally recognized asbestos litigation law firm, has offices across the United States in Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and West Virginia. The firm currently employs approximately 30 attorneys and 40 support staff and practices heavily in complex civil litigation.
