Job Title: Senior Estates & Probate Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Estates & Probate Paralegal, you will engage in a variety of paralegal and administrative tasks within a collaborative, team-oriented environment at the law firm. Your primary responsibilities include supporting local attorneys and the team by assisting with case planning, development, and management, conducting legal research, communicating with clients, drafting and filing legal documents, and making recommendations to attorneys. You are expected to have a passion for various areas of law, including Family Law, Litigation, Estates, and Probate work, and to contribute to creating a pleasant workplace. Your role as a Senior Paralegal comes with greater knowledge and experience than other support staff, and you are expected to successfully complete complex job duties.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Performing legal assignments with a higher degree of independence and taking on greater responsibilities than other legal assistants within the law firm.
- Managing attorney dockets to ensure all deadlines are met promptly.
- Reviewing files and conferring with attorneys to discuss file status and upcoming deadlines.
- Assisting attorneys with preparation for client meetings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trial, trial, etc.
- Drafting letters, briefs, memorandums, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Filing and e-filing briefs, memorandums, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Maintaining client files, both electronic and physical.
- Regularly communicating with clients.
- Conducting legal research and drafting.
- Efficiently providing high-quality legal products and superior service to clients.
- Contributing to and maintaining SOP, forms, and workflow process improvements.
- Exercising leadership in coordinating the work, training, and mentoring of internal office staff and other admin staff in their area(s) and across other transactional practice areas.
- Covering the front desk and phones when necessary to ensure clients and other office visitors receive prompt and professional service.
- Maintaining a well-respected reputation among clients, opposing counsel, Judges, Court staff, and colleagues.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
- Paralegal certificate.
- 5+ years of Paralegal experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to converse, listen, and speak clearly on the phone and through written communications.
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Desired Qualifications:
- College graduate with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills and an ability to successfully juggle multiple mandates simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to effectively use both data and experience-based instinct to make decisions.
- Positive and professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary Information:
Wage: - per hour

Work Environment/Conditions/Physical Demands:
Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the law firm’s policy. While performing job duties, the employee may occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion.
