Our firm specializes in long term care planning, special needs trusts, guardianships/conservatorships, probate, and estate planning/administration. As a legal assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our attorneys with various tasks and ensuring smooth operations of the firm.
Pay: - per hour (negotiable)
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person and remote
Responsibilities:
- Case management and communication with clients: You will be responsible for managing cases and maintaining regular communication with clients to ensure their needs are met.
- Prepare legal documents and court filings: You will assist attorneys with drafting legal documents and preparing court filings.
- Schedule and intake potential new clients: You will be the first point of contact for potential clients, scheduling appointments and gathering necessary information.
- Maintain files and answer calls: You will be responsible for organizing and maintaining client files and answering calls from clients and other parties.
- Proofread documents and assist with other tasks as needed: You will assist with proofreading legal documents and performing other tasks as assigned by the attorneys.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or legal receptionist: We are looking for candidates with prior experience in a similar role.
- High school diploma or GED required: A basic education is required for this position.
- Strong client service skills and ability to work independently: We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals who can provide excellent client service and work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to follow instructions: You must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities: You must have strong attention to detail and be able to think critically to find solutions to problems.
