Job Responsibilities:
The 2026 Summer Associate Program at the Chicago office of the law firm offers second-year law students the opportunity to engage in substantive legal work typically assigned to first-year associates. Summer associates will be involved in various practice groups, including Antitrust, Corporate and Business Transactions – Technology Transactions, Outsourcing, & Commercial Contracts, Employee Benefits, Finance, Investment Management, IP-Disputes, IP-Life Sciences, Labor and Employment, Litigation, and Structured Transactions. Responsibilities include:
- Participating in actual client work across various practice groups.
- Engaging in a generous mix of training and professional development opportunities.
- Focusing on enhancing skills in presentation, oral argument, legal writing, and practice-specific areas.
- Collaborating with experienced attorneys and gaining exposure to different facets of legal practice.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be second-year law students at the time of application. A background in life sciences (such as molecular biology, biochemistry, or cellular biology) is preferred for those interested in IP-Disputes or IP-Life Sciences. Similarly, a background in electrical or mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field is advantageous. Advanced degrees such as a master's or . in these areas are preferred but not required.
