Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Working closely with litigation teams across the country to serve clients engaged in complex litigation, investigations, or due diligence projects. Manage litigation workflows effectively and assist in project management on cases. Communicating professionally with all team members and interacting with clients when required. Engage in the collection of documents, organization of ESI databases, and assisting with document reviews under the supervision of attorneys. Prepare documents, hard copy or electronic formats, for discovery requests and responses. File documents with state or federal courts. Read, understand and summarize depositions. Upload, retrieve and profile case documents to client web databases and organize files for effective use in litigation. Conduct factual research and preliminary legal research with attorney supervision. Provide trial support including logistical and technological support locally or nationally as required.
Qualifications: A Paralegal Degree or Paralegal Certificate is required; RP or CP certification or college degree preferred. 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law office with experience in civil litigation. Significant experience using eDiscovery case management software. Prior experience in litigation state and federal practices and procedures. Experience with all levels of litigation including case intake, presuit investigations, discovery, motion practice, and trial. Exceptional organization and project management skills. Demonstrated expertise in Office 365 and an aptitude for quickly learning various other programs. Demonstrated experience with litigation and discovery management workflows and platforms. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of document management systems, opening and organizing new files, preparing correspondence, editing, preparation and filing of pleadings. Excellent administrative, writing, grammar, and proofreading skills. High level of discretion and confidentiality with the ability to operate under minimal supervision. Understanding of electronic filing platforms including federal Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF). Willingness to continue to develop expertise in eDiscovery best practices and project management.
