Job Title: Manager, Consulting – Legal Operations
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of 8+ legal bill review analysts within the Legal Bill Analysis Center of Excellence (LBACOE).
- Ensure the team’s workflow meets or exceeds established standards using defined metrics and process improvement initiatives.
- Audit electronically submitted legal fee and expense invoices promptly, accurately, and efficiently.
- Adjust invoice line-item entries that violate billing guidelines and document justification for such adjustments.
- Supervise and appraise the performance of the team, provide coaching, and identify development opportunities.
- Develop, document, and maintain effective training methodologies for new LBACOE invoice analysts.
- Train new LBACOE invoice analysts on approved legal billing review techniques and platforms.
- Assess and address the training needs of LBACOE invoice analysts regularly.
- Create and implement quality assurance methodologies, subject to management approval, and monitor analyst work for compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate and distribute legal bill assignments to team members and verify the accuracy of UTBMS task codes.
- Foster a culture of empowerment, engagement, and innovation within the LBACOE.
- Monitor daily and long-term LBA delivery production based on customer schedules.
- Develop and conduct quality assurance to train and coach LBACOE analysts.
- Simplify legal service agreements to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Track and analyze reviewer performance metrics to provide recommendations for improving customer experience.
- Conduct team events and promote best operational practices to drive employee engagement.
- Support organizational and customer-centric initiatives.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or related, equivalent experience required.
- Juris Doctor or MBA preferred.
Experience:
- 1+ years of prior supervisory experience, preferably in a legal billing or claims environment.
- 5+ years of experience in the legal industry with 3+ years as an attorney, paralegal, legal spend analyst, legal bill auditor, legal bill reviewer, or billing coordinator.
- Ability to obtain and deliver information orally and in written form.
- Familiarity with e-billing systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate legal fee and expense invoice entries.
- Understanding of legal terminology and claims legal situations, with multijurisdictional exposure preferred.
- Leadership skills to motivate and inspire team members.
- Prior experience training new staff members, preferably in a legal setting.
- Strong coaching and employee development skills.
- Data analysis and reporting skills.
- Computer skills with the ability to learn electronic legal bill submission and auditing software.
- Sound understanding of English grammar, syntax, style, spelling, and proofreading.
- Organizational skills to manage efficient review of legal invoices.
- Familiarity with common business math and appropriate business tele,450.

- The position is hybrid, requiring 8 days a month in the office.
