Job Title:
Tax Manager - Real Estate
Experience:
5+ years of recent public accounting firm experience, including managing multiple real estate tax projects and customer engagements
Responsibilities:
- Develop excellent customer relationships with top real estate companies
- Consult on tax matters to advise customers through times of disruption and uncertainty
- Communicate progress of engagements and resolutions to customers
- Analyze and observe industry trends to create solutions for customers
- Collaborate cross-functionally to grow business and offer solutions
- Review and develop workpapers for partnership allocations, basis adjustments, and tax transactions
- Review legal documentation related to tax transactions
- Facilitate economic performance of engagements
- Continuously improve specialty area knowledge and professional development
- Coach and develop team members
- Develop a business network with colleagues, referral relationships, potential customers, and external organizations
- Represent the firm in the business community and professional organizations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Law; Masters in Tax/LLM preferred
- 5+ years of public accounting firm experience
- Experience managing team members and workflow
- Significant experience in real estate industry and all types of entity and individual taxes
- Experience analyzing flow-through distribution and profit/loss language
- EA License or CPA certification required
- Project/team management skills
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Ability to manage and grow strong customer relationships
- Experience with tax software and technology
