Job Title: Tax Senior Manager - Real Estate
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships with leading real estate companies.
- Collaborate across various functions within the company to expand existing business and offer diverse business solutions to clients and prospects.
- Analyze and observe industry trends to provide advice to clients during times of disruption and uncertainty.
- Continuously enhance knowledge in specialty areas for professional growth.
- Perform technical reviews of tax returns and conduct necessary tax research to ensure an accurate and efficient work product.
- Review operating agreements, letters of intent, purchase agreements, and other tax transaction-related documents.
- Develop workpapers supporting partnership allocations, basis adjustments, and other complex tax matters.
- Manage and monitor the economic performance of client engagements, including billing and collections.
- Actively communicate the progress of engagements, manage workflow, and ensure proper planning and coordination with the team to meet client expectations.
- Provide effective performance feedback and on-the-job training, celebrating and recognizing excellence in performance.
- Attract and retain top talent by engaging the team throughout their careers.
- Develop and grow a business network with colleagues, referral relationships, potential clients, and external organizations to attract new business.
- Represent the company in the business community and participate actively in professional organizations.
- Engage actively in the local community by providing services and giving back.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law; a Master’s degree in Taxation/LLM is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of recent public accounting firm experience, including managing multiple real estate tax projects and client engagements.
- Experience in developing team members, assigning projects, and managing workflow.
- Significant experience working within the real estate industry on various types of entity and individual taxes, particularly Partnerships.
- Experience analyzing flow-through entity distribution and profit/loss language in Operating Agreements.
- CPA certification is required.
- Demonstrated leadership and project/team management skills.
- Excellent communication and networking acumen.
- Ability to manage and grow strong client relationships.
- Proficiency in using tax software and technology.
