Job Title: Legal Assistant/Receptionist
Job Responsibilities:
- Greeting all clients and visitors professionally and with a smile.
- Maintaining the office common areas in a neat and clean condition.
- Scheduling depositions, court reporters, videographers, etc. at the direction of Case Managers.
- Contacting providers to confirm client medical balances and lien information and entering detailed notes into the case management system.
- Ordering SLED reports and driving records as directed by Case Managers.
- Opening all new claims for PI/WC cases as directed by Case Managers.
- Processing deposits using a remote deposit scanner.
- Answering the phone and directing the caller to the appropriate person.
Education and Experience Information:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Skills Required:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Competency in computing rate, ratio, and percent; ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Problem-solving skills involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Case Management software, and Worldox.
Physical Demands:
- Regular requirement to talk and frequently required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
