Job Title: Senior e-Discovery Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior e-Discovery Attorney plays a critical role in managing and executing eDiscovery strategies for legal cases. The key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with case teams and clients to plan and execute effective eDiscovery strategies.
- Planning and overseeing the collection, review, and production of documents.
- Acting as a liaison between eDiscovery vendors, clients, and case teams to ensure seamless communication and process management.
- Managing document reviews, the creation of privilege logs, and quality control processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assisting with advocacy review, deposition preparation, and other document-related support as needed.
- Preparing eDiscovery budgets and negotiating rates and terms with eDiscovery vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Leading or co-leading custodian interviews to gather necessary information.
- Determining the scope and process for document collection.
- Developing and negotiating search protocols, search terms, and scope agreements with opposing parties to ensure clarity and mutual understanding.
- Drafting and negotiating TAR (Technology-Assisted Review) protocols and ESI (Electronically Stored Information) protocols.
- Drafting and negotiating Search Disclosures, Confidentiality Orders, Discovery Timelines, and Scope Agreements with opposing parties and joint defense groups.
- Participating in or leading meet and confer sessions with opposing parties/agencies on eDiscovery related topics.
- Drafting and editing Responses and Objections to RFPs (Requests for Production) and subpoenas.
- Conducting research on case law in various jurisdictions to support discovery motion practice.
- Collaborating with vendors and clients on collections of emerging data sources.
- Drafting or editing eDiscovery correspondence with opposing parties and government agencies.
- Advising eDiscovery Attorneys on best practices and troubleshooting issues.
- Educating law firm attorneys, including the eDiscovery group, about eDiscovery case law, rules, best practices, and other relevant areas.
- Staying updated on new trends and best practices in eDiscovery.
- Working on special projects as required by the eDiscovery team or firm management.
- Minimal travel is required, and the position often demands more than 35 hours per week to fulfill essential duties.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Senior e-Discovery Attorney position must meet the following education and experience requirements:

- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and at least 10 years of experience in eDiscovery.
- A proven track record in managing complex eDiscovery projects.
- Thorough knowledge of the eDiscovery lifecycle, including information governance, production, and the various technologies and strategies involved.
- Demonstrated ability to confer with government agencies or opposing parties regarding eDiscovery matters.
- Experience with Second Requests and complex high-stakes litigations.
- High-level understanding of Relativity and analytics tools, including TAR.
- Solid understanding of privilege and work product doctrines.
- Knowledge of privacy and cross-border issues.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong presentation skills to convey information clearly to partners, clients, and adverse parties.
- Ability to work under high pressure and meet deadlines without supervision.
- Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and handle competing demands and deadlines.
- Commitment to high standards of quality and integrity.

- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Must be barred in the state of their office or eligible to sit for the bar exam.

Salary Information:
The Senior e-Discovery Attorney position offers a competitive salary, with a targeted hiring range of $200,000 to $220,000 annually. The final rate of pay will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, with the upper range reserved for highly qualified applicants. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt level position. Additionally, the position may be fully remote, hybrid, or in-office based, depending on the candidate's location and law firm policy. Off-site employees must be situated within an approved jurisdiction and may only perform work from specified locations.
