Job Title: Senior Personal Injury Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Job Responsibilities:
- Multi-tasking and effective communication while handling tasks efficiently and professionally with team members and the public, adapting to diverse internal and external clientele.
- Understanding and communicating in accordance with applicable State Bar rules to protect information and confidentiality, while avoiding unauthorized practice of law.
- Complying with company policies and procedures.
- Working in-office as scheduled to meet with clients, collaborate with team members, attend training sessions, and participate in other events.
- Proficiency in utilizing available technology including case management software, computers, databases, portals, and other software needed to successfully manage cases.
- Maintaining excellent customer service and interfacing with clients, providers, and team members according to policies and procedures.
- Preparing documents, including but not limited to medical summaries, claims correspondence, and potentially pleadings, for attorney approval.
- Interfacing with clients on non-legal issues related to the management of the client's case and referring legal issues to the appropriate attorney(s).
- Assisting attorney(s) with written and verbal communications with adjusters and clients.
- Conducting preparation for legal proceedings, submitting appropriate information and legal forms/documents to appropriate organizations, and understanding forms and procedures necessary to properly handle a client's case as instructed by the appropriate attorney(s).
- Effectively communicating with clients to uncover pertinent information and data, including updated treatment status, medical information, changes in work status, and recording information per operating procedures. Notifying the attorney of any changes, new information, concerns, or issues.
- Demonstrating effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills to optimize case management by investigating, reasoning, and collecting pertinent information in situations with limited information.
- Collaborating with appropriate attorney(s) and other team members to handle client cases effectively, identifying relevant facts and issues to achieve optimal results for clients.
- Gathering, processing, and organizing incoming medical records, bills, and other case-related documents in a timely manner per procedure, and notifying the attorney when pertinent records and/or information is received.
- Utilizing, managing, and properly completing assigned tasks per procedure.
- Processing and reviewing mail daily for additional information pertinent to case(s), documenting any pertinent information, and advising the appropriate attorney(s) when received.
- Confirming balances and expenses, preparing appropriate settlement documents for review by the attorney(s).
- Interfacing with other team members to achieve office and departmental goals, and providing backup to other team members, including but not limited to client meetings and video conferences.
- Training, mentoring, and guiding less experienced team members when appropriate and/or requested.

Education and Experience Information:
- 3 plus years of prior Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or related experience.
- Preferred (not required): Bachelor's degree and/or Certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
- Experience with the Litify Case Management Platform is preferred.

Salary Information:
- Pay Range: to per hour
