Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Drafting deposition notices, extensions, standard discovery requests, and HIPAA releases.
- Scheduling depositions, court reporters, mediations, internal meetings, and meetings with fact witnesses and counsel, if applicable.
- Managing the e-discovery process, including data preservation, collection, and production.
- Drafting and designing demonstratives, and preparing exhibits for depositions and trials.
- Analyzing damages/claims, including reviewing bills and creating spreadsheet comparisons.
- Performing e-billing maintenance, which involves recording time, submitting budgets, managing contested bills, overseeing timekeeper submissions, and communicating with the accounting department.
- Preparing, submitting, and managing third-party requests, including medical records requests and open records requests.
- Retrieving and organizing pleadings and other case documents from court dockets, iManage, or litigation support for attorney review.
- Assisting with expense reports and compliance with client reporting and billing guidelines.
- Performing other administrative duties as deemed necessary.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate is preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in a law firm is required.
- Working knowledge of the court system, e-filing, and court filing requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new technology.
- Experience with the e-discovery process is preferred.
