Job Title: Patent Docket Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
The Patent Docket Specialist at the law firm will be tasked with coordinating and maintaining all aspects of the patent computerized docket system. This role will require daily communication with and guidance from the practice group lawyers and staff. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating all areas of the CPI database, including managing information related to each specific application, docket due dates, and remarks.
- Handling incoming domestic and foreign client-related communications.
- Managing communications from the Patent and Trademark Office filed in the Patent Office.
- Processing the delivery of incoming electronic communications according to departmental procedures.
- Providing docket, status, and maintenance reports to patent personnel and lawyers.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Patent Docket Specialist position must have a high school diploma and a minimum of one year of docketing experience or equivalent knowledge of patent processes. Additional qualifications include:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative team environment.
Salary Information:
The salary for the Patent Docket Specialist position varies by location:
- Century City, Los Angeles, Orange County CA, and Seattle, WA: $64,700 - $103,475.
- Chicago, IL: $59,300 - $94,850.
- Washington, .: $62,000 - $99,200.
- San Francisco and Silicon Valley, CA: $67,400 - $107,825.
The base salary wage range will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on factors such as prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary wages may be outside of this range based on individual circumstances and may be part of the total compensation package, which includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, business travel accident insurance plans, and health savings and flexible spending accounts for the employee and eligible dependents. Employees will also receive paid holidays, personal days, vacation days, sick leave, bereavement leave, paid parental leave, and paid pregnancy disability leave.
