Job Title: Tax Senior, Tax Automation & Innovation
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Senior, Tax Automation & Innovation is part of the Tax Automation & Innovation team and plays a crucial role in implementing tax automation tools. The primary responsibilities include:
- Networking to build relationships both within the company and externally.
- Collaborating with Tax AI leadership to evaluate client tax departments and identify areas for automation across data, process, technology, and workforce.
- Engaging in client projects involving optimization or implementation of existing tools, custom tax/data solutions, or third-party vendor solutions.
- Participating in engagements under the direction of Tax AI leadership, which includes involvement in the proposal process, scoping, design, building, testing, and deployment phases.
- Assisting in developing training and documentation for client hand-off.
- Providing ongoing maintenance, consulting, and support to clients post-implementation, including "go-live" or close assistance with new systems.
- Attending and participating in various networking opportunities.
- Collaborating with multiple offices within the company to assist other business line engagement teams in delivering tax solutions.
- Supporting the company through the development of new internal tax solutions or consulting and training on existing internal tax processes, technologies, and applications.
Job Duties:
Tax Consulting:
- Learn the full scope of a client’s tax function and assist in developing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Participate in planning or project delivery meetings, including proposal delivery and solutions workshops or training.
- Understand work plans for tax consulting projects.
- Assist in meeting client expectations.
- Gather client requirements, review client data and workpapers, and redesign processes as instructed.
- Identify opportunities for enhancements to tax process, technology, and data challenges.
- Establish internal standards and processes for the practice.
- Identify complex data challenges and communicate them to ensure relevant issues are understood.
Engagement / Project Management:
- Demonstrate basic project and process management skills.
- Manage responsibilities associated with multiple complex projects.
- Take ownership of work produced, perform self-review, and seek review from project managers.
- Develop understanding of proper scoping and work with the Tax AI team to ensure client engagement terms are followed.
- Execute standard project setup procedures, track and gain exposure to billing and project economic management.
- Collaborate with project team to measure deliverable milestones and ensure project progress and success.
Client Service:
- Clearly identify client’s business requirements and expectations.
- Communicate status to the client and respond to requests promptly.
- Support project teams in navigating complex issues.
- Provide on-the-job learning to Associates and Experienced Associates.

Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Technology.
- Graduate degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience with technology or tax systems required.
- Experience in ASC 740 tax accounting, consulting, or income tax compliance preferred.
License / Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
- Bloomberg, Corptax, Longview, Orbitax, or Thomson Reuters certification preferred.
- Alteryx, RPA, Microsoft Power Apps, or other analytics software certification preferred.
Software:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
- Experience with systems such as Bloomberg, Oracle, Thomson Reuters, ONESOURCE, Longview, OneStream, or Corptax preferred.
- Experience with RPA tools (UiPath, PowerAutomate, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with ETL tools (Alteryx, Power Query, Power Pivot, Tableau Prep, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work well remotely.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong people skills, including training/instruction with professionals at all levels.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Sound decision-making skills.
- Basic understanding of tax and/or solution development concepts.
- Basic knowledge and skill level in engagement management, including project management skills.
- Ability to complete projects independently.
- Willingness to travel 10-25% of the time.
Salary Information:
Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined after consideration of numerous factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The salary ranges are as follows:
- National Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- Maryland Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- Washington DC Range: $73,500 - $131,250
