Job Title: AVP, Property - Litigation Claims

Job Responsibilities:
- Actively manage first-party Commercial Property litigation claims resulting from suits against the company. This includes lines of business such as Commercial Excess and Surplus, Middle Market Property, and Property Programs.
- Manage litigated claims in accordance with company litigation management guidelines.
- Collaborate with the internal legal team on the selection of counsel, case evaluation, and litigation strategy.
- Present specific claims and broader trends to Claim and Underwriting management.
- Develop alternative case resolution strategies as appropriate.
- Develop and update litigation plans and prepare legal expense budgets.
- Participate as a Subject Matter Expert in the development of training for internal and TPA staff.
- Maintain contact with TPA claim staff, business line leader, underwriter, defense counsel, and program manager for Program claims.
- Provide feedback to Property Claim management on trends or patterns related to drivers of litigation.
- Investigate claims and review insureds' materials, pleadings, and other relevant documents.
- Identify and review applicable statutes, rules, and case law for each jurisdiction.
- Review litigation materials, including depositions and expert's reports.
- Travel within the United States to attend mediations, trials, and other relevant proceedings.
- Negotiate the resolution of claims.
- Maintain a diary of all claims, post reserves in a timely fashion, and respond to claims inquiries from insured, counsel, underwriters, brokers, and senior management promptly.

Education and Experience:
- First-party Commercial Property litigation experience, preferably in key states such as Florida, Louisiana, and Texas.
- Considerable working knowledge of the insurance industry and insurance claims operations, particularly in commercial property claims, property policy construction, ISO Commercial Property forms, and property insurance coverage evaluation/interpretation.
- A minimum of 5 years of claims litigation handling experience.
- Proper licensing in all applicable states.
- Knowledge of legal concepts and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Juris Doctor (JD) required.
- Willingness and ability to travel 10-15%.
- Reasonable proximity to a major airport.
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal, influencing, evaluation, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to participate in active strategic discussions and work well independently and in a team environment.
- Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Salary Information:
- Base salary range: $107,900 - $175,000 per year.
- Position is incentive eligible.
- Total individual compensation, including base salary and short & long-term incentives, will consider factors such as geographic location, scope and responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability, specialization, and business needs.
- The pay range may be modified in the future.
