Job Title: Business Development & Marketing Director – Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Business Development & Marketing Director at the law firm serves as a dynamic leader responsible for collaborating with Practice Group Leaders and subgroup leaders to enhance cross-selling initiatives and bring market initiatives to clients in an effective manner. The director is tasked with instilling proactivity, project management discipline, and a targeted approach within their team. Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a thought partner and project manager for setting strategic goals, implementing change, and improving internal communications.
- Collaborating with lawyers and team members to identify and package offerings related to legislative, regulatory, market, and industry trends, and coordinating client outreach.
- Leading and developing a high-performing team to advance strategic goals and priorities of the practice group.
- Leveraging market and business intelligence to identify and pursue new client targets in alignment with the firm’s strategies.
- Collaborating with marketing and communications teams to design go-to-market strategies that support pipeline development and position the firm to win work.
- Utilizing CRM and other technologies to identify leads, track pipelines, and measure ROI.
- Creating connections between practice groups, sectors, and client teams.
- Working closely with the Pursuits & Directories team to create and refine compelling content and pitch responses.
- Improving the approach to directories and awards to enhance the firm’s brand position.
- Collaborating with events colleagues to create strategic events aligned with go-to-market strategies.
- Developing and managing annual budgets to support key client and prospect initiatives.
- Creating a culture that embraces strategic and aggressive business expansion within existing and new clients.
- Contributing to department goals and projects, including CRM, training, and onboarding of talent.
- Collaborating with sector and key client team colleagues to share best practices and refine materials to demonstrate client and sector knowledge.
- Setting agendas for leadership meetings.
- Collaborating with recruiting and practice group directors to build best practices for integrating talent into the firm from a business development perspective.
- Assessing and enhancing marketing technology systems with Marketing Operations and Innovation colleagues to drive client-centric targeting and action.
- Using AI to create efficiencies in work product.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Preferred Education:
- Master's Degree
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 10+ years of Business Development experience, preferably in a leading litigation and/or investigations law firm.
Desired Skills:
- Extensive prior experience in identifying and driving cross-selling initiatives.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and flexible.
- Strong understanding of litigation, particularly Business and Commercial Litigation, White Collar and Investigations, and Product Liability, Mass Torts, and Class Actions.
- Experience and success in client development, professional services marketing, and people management.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills for interaction with senior executives and lawyers.
- Ability to develop rapport and gain respect within all levels of an organization.
- Strategic thinker and problem solver.
- Proven ability to collaborate and build effective teams.

Salary Information:
The expected hiring range for this position at the law firm is $229,360 - $353,889 per year, depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.
Additional Information:
The role offers a hybrid work schedule and may be located in any of the law firm’s US offices. Employees are expected to comply with all firm policies and engage in both physical and sedentary activities. The law firm is committed to excellence and upholding firm values.
