Goldberg and Associates, an immigration law firm located in Sherman Oaks, CA, is seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to join our team. With over a decade of success in immigration law, we are looking for someone who is passionate and driven to help our clients navigate the complex immigration system.
Salary Information:
Salary Range: $26/hr to $35/hr
Full-Time Hourly Position
Job Title: Immigration Paralegal
Responsibilities:
- Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
- Prepare USCIS forms, evidence lists, and legal memos for Asylum, Cancellation of Removal, and waivers
- Conduct research on immigration law and procedures
- Communicate with clients to provide case status updates and gather necessary information
- Maintain case information in Goldberg's web-based case management system
- Track filing statuses and inform clients of any necessary follow-up
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of legal language, principles, and research methods
- Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Gsuite, or related software
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
- Paralegal certificate required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Immigration Paralegal, with a focus on EOIR, asylum, and USCIS cases, including waivers and cancellation of removals
- Supervisory experience is a plus
