Job Title: House Counsel Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the House Counsel Attorney is to defend employers in employment practices litigation, particularly in agency matters such as the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Workers' Compensation 132a. The attorney will also handle litigated cases in the State and Federal Courts in California. Key duties include managing a varying caseload, demonstrating effective oral and written advocacy skills, applying analytical skills to complex legal issues, and collaborating proactively with clients and internal service partners, including other members of the House Counsel team. This position also presents an exciting opportunity to progress into a leadership role and lead a team.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be admitted to the California State Bar and the . District Courts of California. The position requires at least 5 to 10 years of employment litigation experience. Candidates should have additional experience handling litigated employment cases in State and Federal Courts, as well as agency matters, including DFEH, EEOC, and Workers' Compensation 132a cases. Strong knowledge of current procedural and substantive law in Federal and State courts is essential. The candidate must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written advocacy skills and negotiation tactics.

Salary Information:
The base pay range for the House Counsel Attorney role is between $141,000 and $189,000. The specific offer may vary outside of this range depending on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role is also eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, with more details available on their career website.
