Job Title: Senior Management & Professional Liability Technical Claims Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
- Adjudicate highly complex professional lines claims with limited oversight under broad management direction, handling cases with the highest degree of technical complexity and potentially significant departmental impact.
- Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to address numerous and undefined issues.
- Report claims trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
- Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviews with all involved parties.
- Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine policy coverage.
- Manage claims in litigation and ensure timely and complete task execution for optimal financial outcomes and timely resolutions.
- Properly set claim reserves, considering how different policy wordings impact the claims reserving process.
- Identify, assign, and coordinate expertise resources to assist in case resolution.
- Prepare reports for file documentation and apply creative solutions for the best financial outcome.
- Negotiate highly complex settlement packages, set reserves, authorize payments within authority scope, and ensure timely disbursement issuance.
- Process mail, prioritize workload, and complete telephone calls and written correspondence with various parties.
- Demonstrate strong claim management appreciation and passion.

Education and Experience Information:
- A . from an accredited university is required.
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in adjudicating professional lines claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
- Good business acumen with an understanding of how an insurance company operates and impacts profitability.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
- Strong claim negotiation and evaluation skills.
- Proficient in claims reserving techniques.
- Strong customer focus and effective time management skills.
- Demonstrates innovative thinking and regularly shares ideas.
- Ability to articulate financial value at multiple responsibility levels within clients’ businesses.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to consider all options.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software.
- Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Desire for continued professional development through education and self-development.
- Licensed Claims Examiner (based on state) and ability to obtain a license in each jurisdiction requiring a license to adjudicate first-party claims within 120 days.

Salary Information:
- Colorado outside of Denver metro, Maryland, Nevada, and Rhode Island pay ranges: $154,900 - $185,800
- California outside of San Francisco metro area, Connecticut, Chicago metro area, Denver metro area, Washington State, and New York State (including Westchester County) pay ranges: $170,300 - $204,300
- New York City and San Francisco metro areas pay ranges: $185,900 - $223,100
